Phoenix Day
Phoenix Day has grown into one of Arizona's most
innovative and progressive child learning
centers, today providing low-cost child care and
health services for 3,500 children and working
families. By offering subsidized childcare and
early education programs, as well as free health
screenings, referrals and meals, Phoenix Day
helps families better meet the challenges of
daily life.
Core programs include Food and Nutrition,
Bilingual Case Management, Health Links, Early
Education and Childcare.
Quarterly Nutrition Night: A component of the
current childhood obesity campaign has
integrated Quarterly Nutrition Night which
consists of food demonstrations and education on
meal preparations for parents, staff and the
community. These demonstrations offer our staff,
children and their families' interactive
learning on such topics as:
a)
Heart Healthy Meals
b) Cultural Foods Made Healthy
c) Using Nature's Fruits as Sweet Snacks
d) Meals on a Budget.
Phx Day will promote this unique partnership
with the JLP on its website, in publications and
in the annual report. |
