President's Message
|
|
"The greatest reward for doing is the opportunity to do more."
-Jonas Salk
The Junior League of Phoenix is quickly moving toward a milestone anniversary next year - 75 years of Community Service. Can you imagine what our community would look like had The Junior League not had vision and acted on it throughout the years?
There would be no Ronald McDonald House, no Crisis Nursery, no Komen Race for the Cure. The Orpheum Theatre would have been torn down; the Phoenix Museum of History would still be in a small building downtown. Women leaving prison would not have had mentors to help them assimilate to their new lives. So many other programs have benefited from the impact of The Junior League; we have helped changed the landscape of community programming in the Valley.
|
Yet here we are. We have been visionary for 74 years and our community has benefited greatly from the ability to not only foresee needs, but to effectively take action in order to meet those needs. Our community also has benefited from Junior League members who have taken their leadership and training to help other organizations flourish and grow.
Strong charitable programs are the core of a vibrant community, and The Junior League of Phoenix continues to be an integral part of this. As our community changes and grows, so will The Junior League. We will continue to develop women to positively impact our area through training and leadership development and continue to be visionary in addressing our community's needs.
One woman can make a difference. But
a group of committed women can change
the course of history. Look no further
than our community and how The Junior
League of Phoenix has impacted the lives
of countless people over the years.
We continue to be Women building better communities®.
Warmly,

Kiffie Robbins
2008-2009 President
