JLP saved and preserved the Encanto Carousel in 1987. When Kiddieland was to be closed and refurbished, the rides, including the 1948 Flying Jerry Lind Carousel, were to be auctioned off to carnival operators. The carousel had been the focal point of Kiddieland for years and everyone remembered riding it at a birthday party as a child, or taking their own children for a ride.

JLP established the Encanto Carousel Fund to purchase and restore the carousel. The carousel was returned to Kiddieland and the kid in every person in Phoenix.
