The Arizona Museum of Science and Technology 1979 – 1984

The Arizona Museum of Science and Technology was a dream come true for Junior League of Phoenix. Members wanted a big project to work on. Phoenix needed a hands-on participatory museum.

After much research and study, the museum opened in 1984.

In the winter of 1993, AMSTEC broke ground on its current $20M location in Heritage Square. There are over 100 interactive science exhibits, science classes, special visiting exhibits, planetarium and a large screen theater.
