ROCKETS Teacher Launch Seminar

ROCKETS Teacher Launch Educate to Innovate Conference, presented by the Junior League of Phoenix in partnership with CREATE at the Arizona Science Center, is a full-day STEM professional development seminar for K-12 schoolteachers and administrators. The seminar brings science, math, and reading skills to children – impacting students’ education for years to come. In 2023 two sold out conferences served 235 teachers reaching 31,645 students in Arizona. 80% of the teacher and student participants were part of Title 1 school programs. Teachers are empowered to find creative ways to integrate science into their daily lesson plans. Every attendee walks away with continuing education credits, classroom supplies, and the opportunity to win raffle prizes such as gift cards, school supplies, and field trips to the Arizona Science Center. The committee also organized a fundraising event with a local law firm raising $3,145 for ROCKETS programs.

ROCKETS Teacher Launch History

The Junior League of Phoenix independently hosted a ROCKETS Teacher Launch event for seven years. Beginning in 2019, JLP partnered with the Arizona Science Center CREATE team and hosted a similar seminar through their Educate to Innovate Conferences. JLP is a longtime partner of the Arizona Science Center, which began as a community project of The Junior League of Phoenix in 1980. Combining JLP’s volunteer power and CREATE’s professional development expertise results in a hugely successful event!
