Message from the President

Welcome!

The Junior League of Phoenix has been an essential part of Maricopa County for the past 75 years. Beginning in 1935, a group of women working together identified pressing needs in the Valley and addressed these needs through voluntarism.

Times have changed and so have the demographics of our membership, but the women of the Junior League of Phoenix still embrace the same values as that group of women in 1935.

Today, the Junior League of Phoenix has a significant presence in the local community, focusing our efforts on early childhood education and preparing children for kindergarten. We continually identify current community needs, create innovative solutions through our programs and train our members to effectively implement these goals providing lasting community impact.

The training that the women of the Junior League of Phoenix receive sets our organization apart from other nonprofit organizations. Our training is both formal and experiential. As trained volunteers, our members have a broad impact throughout our community as nonprofit leaders both within and outside of the Junior League.

Lifelong friendships are built among today's members of the Junior League, as we fulfill our common mission - promoting voluntarism, developing women and improving our community - just as women have done for the last 75 years.

Warmly,

Marion Rhoades
2009-2010 President
The Junior League of Phoenix, Inc.
