President's Message

Welcome to the Junior League of Phoenix! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the League and our mission!

The Junior League of Phoenix is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. In the simplest of terms we create women leaders!

Since 1935, the Junior League of Phoenix (JLP) has had a lasting and positive impact in Phoenix. Each year, more than 1,000 women of the JLP contribute more than 6,000 hours of volunteer service to the Greater Phoenix community, adding up to enormous impact on our city.

In addition to our mission, the Junior League of Phoenix also has a specific focus area, Building A Healthy Arizona. Every person in Phoenix should have access to healthy food and to the information that can help them improve the health of their families. The Junior League of Phoenix intends to “Build a Healthy Arizona” in a two pronged way, with programs addressing food insecurity/food access, and programs addressing nutrition and obesity. For this very important issue facing our community, we already have two Nationally Awarded Programs called Kids in the Kitchen and ROCKETS (Raising our Children’s Knowledge by Educating through Science.)

We are fortunate to have a passionate and diverse membership of women and we are proud to be part of their development in becoming leaders, visionaries and change agents of tomorrow. Our Active and Sustaining members continue to implement their JLP leadership training by serving on numerous community boards and coalitions as well as lead businesses, nonprofits and civic organizations.

As part of the Association of Junior Leagues International, we join over 155,000 women in 4 countries who want to make a difference while increasing our knowledge on important issues that affect our communities.

The Junior League of Phoenix embraces diverse perspectives, builds partnerships and inspires shared solutions. We are accessible, inclusive and move people to make a difference. Our members make a difference in areas that are essential to the development and growth of our community. You can find our members moving the needle on our focus area while also developing their skills and having a lasting impact on changing Phoenix for the better. We are happy to partner with the United Way on the Breakfast in the Classroom Initiative as well as with the Halle Heart Museum on the Kids Cook with Heart program. These are just two examples of how we have partner with other organizations here in the Valley of the Sun but we have also been founding partners on important programs and organizations like the Fresh Express Mobile Market as well as Children’s Museum of Phoenix and Ryan House.

Please join us as we continue to develop leaders that make a difference in the Phoenix community and beyond!
